New Muscle Car Forum: Cruising Woodward
Speaking of car forums from the last post. A few of my friends and I just started a car forum over on the domain cruisingwoodward.com. It's just a nice looking website with a blog section as the frontpage and a vbulletin forum in the back. The great thing is when you comment on any muscle car post, you're vbulletin profile will show up. This is a lot more exciting than just a name and a comment on a regular Wordpress blog. Also when you login on the frontpage you will be logged into the forum as well.
It's just a really cool car forum that I hope takes off. I will be updating it with all types of car news daily, pretty much just like this blog. But this one has a forum attached, a chance for automotive enthusiasts to meet others and also upload a few photos of their car. And if you are associated with a car club, we have a section where you can post your car club with a mini little logo. I plan on doing a little more with the website, but for now it's pretty cool looking I think. I hope you guys like it, don't be afraid to join. Even though the forum and blog is primarily about cruising woodward, anyone is welcome to join from another state or country. It's for all gear heads, whether you are tuner car fan, muscle car fan, or an exotic car fan. Check it out!
The Cruising Woodward website has no affiliation with the actual Woodward Dream Cruise.
I’m not much for Car Forums These Days
You know, I don't spend my time on any car forums these days. I guess it's because I grew out of them and I stopped modifying my muscle cars. I pay more attention to my muscle car blog now. I think there's a lot of great muscle car guys on the forums, it just doesn't catch my interest anymore what people have to say. If I need any advice I just ask one of my mechanic friends. I'm now what we webmasters like to call a "lurker." I would of never thought I would become one of these types of people. I was always making posts in the olden days, trying to keep up in the muscle car discussion. Well, I guess people change right?
Two muscle car forums I used to be on was SVT Performance and LS1 Tech, I think buy now any of you guys that own SVT cars or Fbody cars, you probably heard of these muscle car forums. Both of them are very large and on the big boards forum directory. I used to love reading posts from both the Ford guys and the GM guys. They always had something snobby to say about each other, I really never got that. I guess that's why I own best of both worlds: a 2004 SVT Mustang Cobra and a 2002 Trans Am WS.6. It makes me wonder if some of these guys will ever grow out of that childish stage. Mad do I get sick and tired of the Ford guys blasting the GM guys and vice versa. I mean will these gear heads every grow up?
I guess when it comes to any type of hobbies or sports, people like to group up and put a hating on others. It just comes natural to some of them and it makes them feel good. I just thought that this wasn't nice so I never did it. Believe me, I've been on the other end before and it's not a good feeling... I once ran a muscle car club so you can imagine all the BS I had to put up with. I swear to god I'll never do it again.
Anyways, yeah, I think I'm going to head over to both these forums for a little bit next month. It would nice to see if any change has happened in the automotive world. But, I'm sure not much has happened. I know LS1 Tech has new moderators, the original LS1 Tech owner sold it for big money to a Forum company. Can't blame him, I would do this too if they offered me huge amount of money. And far as I know, it's still the same moderators over on SVT Performance forums. These guys are pretty hardcore, I don't think they'll sell their forums anytime soon. I know one moderator from the SVT Forums remarked they got a decent offer but turned it down. I'm sure they figured it's going to take a lot to sell a sentimental forum such as SVT Performance.
If any of you SVT Performance or LS1 Tech members have any updates on these car forums I would love to hear about them. Haven't heard much from any of my car buddies out on Woodward. If you do, please use the comment form down below, thank you!
How Much is my 2004 Mustang Cobra Worth?
You know lately, I've been wondering how much my 2004 SVT Mustang Cobra is worth. The muscle car only has 1,000 miles on it and the Mustang is in mint condition. I don't want to sell it, I want to sit on it for at least another ten years before I sell it. I don't think it's going to be worth mega bucks or anything, but I do think it might hold sentimental value and worth to one automotive enthusiast one day and I could get a decent chunk of money. The car is completely stock from the ground up, haven't touched a thing. Looks as good as it did the Mustang Cobra rolled of the line.
Right now it probably wouldn't be worth a whole lot because of the economy. It's been pretty bad lately in Michigan, people losing their jobs and the big three hurting big time. So there's no telling what the Cobra Mustang could be worth. I think I could get the price it sold for brand new, lets say around $35,000, but nothing like $40k+. I do think in a few years it could be worth over $40k+, but the economy is going to have to shape up first man. I'm sick and tired of this poor economy, it's hurting everyone's pockets. But hey, if you have money, time to buy is now.
If you any of you automotive enthusiasts would like to appraise my 2004 Mustang Cobra, let me know what price you think I could sell it for. I would love to hear some feedback, here's the all out detailed specs to help you guys.
2004 SVT Mustang Cobra
Black on Black

1000 miles on the clock

Everything is in perfect condition
Completely Stock, no modifications whatsover
Would love to hear from ya, lets hear your estimates guys...
Fake Muscle Car Hood Scoops
Dude, what's with these fake muscle car hood scoops, I really never got them. They just look so tacky on cars, I never seen on that looked good. Car enthusiasts just use 3M tape to mount them that's it? Nope, I could never do that too any of my muscle cars. Well both of my muscle cars right now have hood scoops in them. The 2002 Trans AM has the ram air hood scoops and the 2004 SVT Cobra Mustang has the vents in front, but I guess you can still call them hood scoops. By the way, both scoops are functional. These stick one ones aren't even functional, just a waste of time and money if you ask me. You're not fooling anyone with these stick on hood scoops people. I can spot them a mile away! If you're going to add a hood scoop to your car people, do it right, make it a real hood scoop and make them functional. These tape on ones are just so stupid, I'm sorry!
Australia Muscle Car: FPV GT
I never seen this car before in my life, then I thought to myself, this must be one of the Aussie's muscle cars. I did some research and I found it out to be true. This Australian muscle car is called the FPV GT, It's said the FPV GT will be using a new 5.0L V8 Mustang engine as its powertrain. So expect somewhere around 400 horsepower out of this beast. It's not the most stunning muscle car I would say, but it sure is neat. I'm sure the Aussies will be very impressed with it.
The muscle car is like a mix between a import and a new age muscle car. It's pretty cool, can't wait to see what this Aussie muscle car can do in 1/4 mile and on the dyno. By the way, I do like the custom wheels and the high performance brake calipers showing on the FPV GT.
Nice Muscle Car Booty
Now this is what I calls some nice muscle car booty, a hot chick posing in front of an old Chevelle muscle car. It's too bad we couldn't get a shot of her face, but a nice shot of her booty is just as good. It's one of my biggest turn-ons seeing hot women posing next muscle cars, I'm sure I'm not the only one out there that agrees on this!
Muscle Car BBQ Grill
No I'm not talking about the grill in front of a car, I'm talking about a grill you roast hot dogs on. This is just one of the amazing accessories that can tell you're friends you're a die hard muscle car fan. Everything from the cool headers shooting out the sides and the high polished heads on top of the engine block, wait I'm sorry, BBQ grill. It's amazing this is an actually BBQ grill, It looks like it's ready to be dropped in a 67 Chevy ya know? Whoever designed this BBQ grills should get an award, it's truly unique and cool for any automotive enthusiast around!
2010 Chevy Camaro Tail Lights
You know the only thing I don't like on the 2010 Chevrolet Camaro is the tail lights in back. It's just so out of place, the rear end is too big to have four little square tail lights in back, looks very awkward. And I've heard many other automotive enthusiasts remarking this. I wonder if there are any aftermarket companies who have come out with any custom tail lights that look different. I did find two pictures below of a yellow 2010 Camaro sporting custom tail lights, but I think these are totally photoshopped, you can check them out below.
These style tail lights are really cool, I think this designer was going for the old 1968 Firebird tail light look. If you don't know what I'm talking about try looking it up on Google. They still look a little out of place though, better, but still not quite right.
This time around the photoshop designer was using tail lights from a 1968 Camaro. I like the 68' Firebird tail lights better than these. These just don't flow too well with the Camaro's rear end.
It's makes me feel kind of sad, because with the right set of tail lights I think the 2010 Chevrolet Camaro could look perfect. I just hope one day some aftermarket company will come out with some good looking tail lights for the muscle car. If any of my muscle car readers have found a company, please post down below, I would like to see them.
All Electric Muscle Car
Well since I was talking about an all electric Corvette ZR1 in my previous post, how about we talk about all electric muscle cars in general. I know you gear heads might think I'm nuts, but believe me, we are not far from it. In fact last year Ronaele made an all electric Mustang that makes 300 horsepower and 1000 pounds of torque. Now that's some massive torque! Enought to throw even Shaquille O'Neal in his back seat!
Well since Ronaele has done it, why aren't we seeing any of the big three step up to the plate. Well I think it's due to cost concerns. It's just too much money right now to make an all electric muscle car. That Ronaele electric muscle car consisted of a price tag of $80,000. So it's really no point in buying an electric muscle car if you're going to be paying that much. I mean the whole point of an electric muscle car is to save money on gas right? Yeah, $80k proceeds any of my gas spending at the pump. Even If I went out own Woodward every day for the next 10 years I wouldn't come close to that number.
So until the price tag comes down on car electric components, I don't think there will be a calling for an all electric muscle car. I still think we're not far off from that age though.
It sure will be weird "buzzing" around town with a 500 horsepower muscle car. I'm use to having a loud exhaust out the back! Hey, I actually heard some automotive companies are installing speakers under there car to give it a more agressive tone. Pretty crazy huh? Looks like the muscle car hobby will be diving deeper into technology. I remember when the car guys were first angered by fuel injection because of computers. We just wait! Things are going to change big time!
GM to upgrade the horsepower in the Corvette ZR1?
So what do you muscle car enthusiasts think? You think GM is planning to up the horsepower in the Corvette ZR1 for the future? I mean when is it enough horsepower. To me 400 horsepower is enough, since the 1970s GM has doubled it in the Corvette. Back then a lot of small block Corvettes had around 300 horsepower, nowadays 600 horsepower. This is a freakish number for a stock car, it's truly amazing GM achieved this number with their stock parts.
Maybe GM won't go down that road, maybe they'll just be trying to make the car lighter and get better gas mileage because of the gas guzzlers tax and the price of gas. I know they need to do something, it's really starting to hit my check book pretty hard. It would be nice to be able to Cruise Woodward just on $1 or $2. Maybe this will happen if GM releases an electric engine in the Corvette. I sure sick of going to the gas station all the time.
So what do you guys think GM will do to improve the Corvette ZR1? I vote for an all electric engine, now that would be cool!
